Improving and expanding access to coverage

With more than 90 percent of Americans having health coverage, Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies believe there is a foundation on which to build a stronger and more equitable health care system that will allow the nation to achieve universal coverage while reducing consumer costs.

We believe everyone should have access to affordable health care, no matter who you are or where you live or what your health status may be. To ensure that all Americans have access to quality, affordable coverage, lawmakers must build on what’s working in our current system to give people the choices they need at a price they can afford.
